Spatial Properties of Soil Physical Quality Index S in Black Soil Croplands under Permanent Gully Erosion

چکیده
Soil physical quality (SPQ) is a limiting factor affecting crop production. However, the impact of gully erosion on SPQ index S, defined by Dexter as inflection point soil water retention curve (SWRC), remains unclear, especially when considering different latitudinal regions. This study aimed to apply Dexter’s S-theory evaluate distribution S in black soils adjacent various positions and investigate its relationship with bulk density (Bd), organic matter (SOM), particle percentage. properties (SWRC, Bd, SOM, percentage) from nine gullies croplands three regions (Harbin, Hailun, Nenjiang Heilongjiang province) were determined at edge (GE0) 50 m beyond into (GE50) following units: head, mid-upper, middle, mid-lower, tail, conjunctions between main branch. The S-index was calculated using parameters such n, θs, θr, SWRC data fitted van Genuchten model. results showed spatial variations across regions, slightly higher S-values Harbin than Hailun Nenjiang. also noticeable differences GE0 GE50 junctions branches. Approximately 51% samples 28.2% had below 0.035, which proposed boundary good poor SPQ, indicating degradation gully-surrounding areas. A decreased vicinity significantly (p < 0.05) associated increased (1.33 vs. 1.21 g cm−3 for GE50) SOM (36.80 39.36 kg−1 GE50). In summary, this indicates that affects farmland areas through Bd. Accordingly, measures suited increase may be implemented maximize yield farmlands.

Analysis physical and chemical properties of soil and morphometric impacts on gully erosion
It is widely known that the development of gullies causes the loss of a great amount of soil and can be considered as one of the principal causes of geo-environmental degradation. The study area of the present research is located in the eastern shores of Urmia Lake. This study sought to evaluate the rate of growth and effective factors on the area’s gully dynamic over a year. To achieve th...

Extended abstract Introduction Water erosion has been a problem worldwide, which causes the phenomenon of land degradation in semi-humid areas of dry land. The risk of soil erosion in arid and semiarid areas, especially in mountain ranges is of significant cases in land use planning. Soil erosion in these areas is one of the important consequences of climate change, or in general, the ob...
متن کاملSpatial Variability of Soil Erosion and Soil Quality on Hillslopes in the Chinese Loess Plateau
Soil erosion rates and soil quality indicators were measured along two hillslope transects in the Loess Plateau near Yan'an, China. The objectives were to: (a) quantify spatial patterns and controlling processes of soil redistribution due to water and tillage erosion, and (b) correlate soil quality parameters with soil redistribution along the hillslope transects for different land use manageme...

The protection and the maintenance of the exceptional environment of New Caledonia are major goals for this territory. Among environmental problems, erosion has a strong impact on terrestrial and coastal ecosystems. However, due to the volume of data and its complexity, assessment of hazard at a regional scale is time-consuming, costly and rarely updated. Therefore, understanding and predicting...
